Muhim’s cafe is run by Muhim herself, a woman and BIPOC owned business. Muhim opened the café on December 1st and is seeking to create a place where Somali and U.S. culture (amongst other cultures) can integrate. She is environmentally conscious and chose the Lyndale Neighborhood in hopes of helping to rebuild Lake Street. In fact, 115 East Lake Street, the building where Muhim’s Café operates, burned down in the riots two summers ago.
